When the smoke intensity reaches a certain limit at an early stage of a fire, the smoke detector would detect it, thus the integrated siren sounds and the warning LED will start to flash red. A white LED acts as emergency light?ing for easy orientation also in the event of power failure. This enables a fire to be detected at an early stage and a warning to be given in good time before dangerous smoke gases are present.
The Homematic Wireless Smoke Alarm HM-Sec-SD-2 is intended for use in a network with other wireless smoke alarms of the same type. In the event of fire the wireless smoke alarm simultaneously sends an alarm to all devices of the same type that are located within wireless range. Thus, you can react early enough to a fire that may still be some distance away, perhaps in an?other room on a different floor of the building.
Furthermore, the Homematic wireless smoke alarm can communicate with Homematic Central control unit to realize more automatic control function.
